is there a affordable way to find keywords for a site? other than keyword spy or compete which are not reachable to normal marketers. Is it possible to know the keywords for which a site ranks and keep monitoring it for a reasonable price. Any one sharing their experience would be greatly appreciated.

Google keyword tool is one useful tool. But it doesn't give you that much data is you wanted a more broad and exact search. I am using Market Samurai for now. It is kinda expensive but gives me more clearer data.

Google Adwords keywords tool is the best way to search keywords for your website. All you have to do is to put some efforts on keywords research. Create a list of relevant keywords having less competition and good number of hits. Do not target generic keywords for a new website. Try to start with 3 or 4 tail keywords.

Google Keyword Tool is the best when finding keywords for a website. It gives you stats about the competition of the keyword and  how many people are searching for it. It's also free which makes it greater.
