Paid directories were popular in the past, as they were believed to be beneficial for SEO purposes. However, search engines have evolved and become more sophisticated over time. Today, paid directories are generally not considered as effective for improving search engine rankings. Instead, it is typically recommended to focus on creating high-quality content and obtaining natural backlinks from reputable websites.

Paid directories were once seen as a way to quickly and easily acquire backlinks to improve search engine rankings. However, search engines like Google have become more sophisticated in assessing the quality and relevance of backlinks. In fact, Google explicitly discourages paid link schemes that are designed to manipulate search results.

While some paid directories may still exist and can provide a small boost in traffic or visibility, they are generally not considered a reliable or effective long-term strategy for improving SEO. Instead, focus should be placed on creating high-quality, unique content that is valuable to users. This can help attract organic backlinks from other authoritative websites, which are much more valuable to search engines.

It's also worth noting that there are many free directories available, and submitting your website to relevant ones can still provide some benefits, such as increased visibility or referral traffic. However, it's important to evaluate the quality, relevance, and reputation of each directory before considering submission.

Overall, while paid directories may have had some value in the past, their impact on SEO today is limited. It's generally more beneficial to invest time and effort into creating high-quality content and obtaining organic backlinks from reputable sources.

Don't go for paid directories they are good for nothing. Adding your website on paid directories can also hurt your website as one of the Blogging site Build My Rank has de-indexed by Google earlier this year.  It's not even a good idea to grab a lot back links from web directories.
