Use all natural link building techniques, Avoid all Black Hat SEO techniques. Beware with the Quality of Content: because google penguin doesn't only counts your backlinks but also your website's content.

Penguin wants webmasters to focus on making pages for real people and not for search engines. That means, building links for the sake of PageRank or Beating the SERP is not really a good idea after Penguin has rolled out.

All techniques tend to target real users matter the most. Building links for the right reason: for users to click on.

Write contents that provide real information for real people. Technical issues like keyword density, article words, etc. have less value as per the new algorithm.

To conclude, prioritize targeting real people. Not search engines.
