I want to know "Is it a good idea to redirect the user to home page if any of the internal page is not found?" I made this change with the help htaccess file. So please suggest me about this.

I would suggest redirecting it to a page with similar content, if possible. For example, you can redirect your old "blue nike shoes for men" page to "nike shoes for men", instead of redirecting it to nike home page. This will improve the search ranking of the destination page and not affect your conversion rate much, since your new page is similar to old one.

Nothing wrong with redirecting it to your home page though.

Redirection is very useful when done right. Instead of getting an error message that the page cannot be found you can be redirected to a page that helps you find what you are looking for.

Redirecting All Your URLs To Your Home Page Is A Bad Practice. Google's John Mueller said on Friday in a webmaster video that redirecting all of your URLs to your home page is bad practice. Instead, you should redirect those URLs on a one by one basis to the proper new location.
