Hey Guys,

I'm running a website where I need to make redirections to maintain the site updated. But recently I've noticed that my Direct traffic in GA shoots up and on the other hand Organic is going down.

I did my research on the net but couldn't find the answer.

So my question is if I'm giving 301 or 302 to particular pages and if those URLs shows up in the Google SERP then how google will treat that traffic for final landing pages? Will it be Direct Traffic, Organic or Referral for the final landing pages (on which old pages are redirected)?

Google will replace the old url with new updated url, if you redirect a link with 301 redirect, and if you will use the 302 redirect, then google will keep the old link in search engine, and might possible it will not index the new link in search engine, because that is a temporary redirect.
