Guest Posting on your Blog
« on: 04-28-2014, 07:40:33 »
In light of the recent comments by Cutts on Guest Posting, I find that SEO's have differing opinions about what was said. What is your take? It seemed to me, all guest posting that include an outbound link might be in question. Where some SEOs believe it is still ok for same topic posts, blog topics that are the same as the post. Any opinions out there?

Matt Cutts has a point, as they found out that Guest Posting is done, and become way too spammy. I myself noticed this marketing strategy being used to make money in return for an article post, and it's very expensive.

In some points i agree with you, that if we are doing blog post, then it is almost similar to guest post. But as said by jasminecreed, google foudn guest posting done is too spammy, that's why they penalized website if they use Guest posting to increase their backlinks

Only accept/give high-quality posts which actually contribute to the community you are writing for and don't try to scale this process out of control and you will be fine.

The only reason Google acted in the first place was because people were using sites like MGB, etc to scale their 'white hat' link building efforts in a way which did nothing to contribute to the quality of the pages they were writing for and by extension, the SERPs.

They aren't going to give a crap about you writing a handful of guest blog posts for your little website in what is most likely a niche that Google doesn't have their eye on.

Guest post are very expensive so instead of investing in this why not we invest in Google Adwords. Guest Post are Now Consider as Spamy and there is no weight-age will get for the Keyword you want to target. Instead of this you start your own blog.

Guest posting is one of the most influential off-page SEO strategies. It helps in building relationships with the clients, which further leads to brand awareness and organic visibility. This kind of rapport is relatively impossible to gain via other channels of SEO hence the investment is worth taking. Guest posting means to built your link new and update content and popular is SEO.

I think the whole idea is that if you're guest posting, you're likely to be at least somewhatreputable, which is why guest posting usually involved follow links. Google doesn't want to give weight to no-follow links because they're just too easy to get these days and encourage spamming. Google wants to make it tough to ensure that only the trustworthy, real businesses who are willing to work hard and put in the effort get links. It's like a filter sorting out the bad apples.
