I think there is no way to rank without Back links. Even if you have good quality content but still you need back links push your results to the top in Google. So back links have been the key part in SEO and will be in the future too.

Its only happen if your website is a brand and everyone knows about your brand. Otherwise without backlinks it can't possible. I am not denying that social media can affect ranking but for stability of keywords depends upon backlinks.

Thanks

Hi,

If we want to do SEO without backlinks we should consider below mentioned points.

1. We have to focus on proper On page optimization techniques.

2. We have to target keyword phrases with much lower competition.

3. We have to create a content that is informational, educational and have a proper design structure which can attract many linkreators.

4. We have to focus on Social Media for audience building.

5. We have to focus on some offline activity like organize an event for brand awareness because after completion of this event normally people go to home and search our brand term in Google. In this case there are higher chances of clicking on our link in SERP, which increases the CTR of our page result and increasing CTR is a ranking factor and it will help to boost our ranking as well.

Backlinks holds a lot of weight obviously, but not all the weight.
Here is what I suggest to rank without backlinks.
The whole point of backlinks is that google needs to somehow see you are legit, and trusted. They do that using votes from external sources (backlinks).
So if you are all over the internet, backlinks or not, google will see that and depending where of the "all over you are you will start to rank.
Thus, citations, participate in online discussions, provide value.  Social media shares and mentions, youtube videos, pictures...
all this spreads your internet precence and thus google will notice and rank you.

There are 2 important components of SEO: on-page optimization and off-page optimization. Backlink plays a relevant role to get the rank top in search engine. However, if you don't want to spam link on blogs or forums, I recommend you to use Guest Post. It is really useful to promote your site

Without backlinks, no site can be ranked up. The only way for Search Engine to determine your site's rank depended on backlinks. Having back-links is a signal telling that your content is valuable and people are talking about it. If you just focus on creating quality content, you'll still get natural backlinks from visitors. But are you sure those little numbers of natural backlinks can help you defeat competitor's sites and stay on SERPs.

Sometimes I wonder if people just say the first thing that comes to mind or if they actually do some research.

If you needed backlinks to rank no one could rank for a new site.
If I build a website about pink flying elephants with purple polkadots, I would rank 1st seconds after I index my brand new site for those keywords... WITHOUT  A SINGLE BACKLINK!

So those that say "you can't rank without backlinks" really should do a bit of research before just saying something, anything.
Secondly, backlinks  hold about 40% of  google authority.
This means 60%, read my lips, SIXTY PERCENT is still up for grabs.

Come on guys!!

Will it be difficult to rank without backlinks?
Maybe. If you have competition yes of course.
Will it be difficult to rank for:
"purple smurfs with wings sucking  giant lollipops while singing songs to smurfette while giving papa smurf the evil eye"..
No it would not be difficult at all!

"You can not rank without backlinks" is absolute rubbish!

But why you don't want to generate backlinks ? Without backlinks, SEO is like aiming a target with blindfold. You can achieve SEO but it will take very long to succeed. Link building is one of the most and important part of SEO. If you want to succeed in SEO, you should generate backlinks. If you need any type of service please click here

Again, no backlinks does not at all mean aiming at a target with a blindfold. If you have no competition you don't need back links.
Why people don't want to do backlinks? Because it is difficult, time consuming, if you do not know what you are doing, it can severely hurt you,  etc. etc. there are many reasons why someone wouldn't want to go the backlink route.
Many sites got burned in the past with google updates. Most did black hat SEO but some did it totally in a legit way.

Let me say it in a very simple form

You need backlinks to help you rank. That is it! If you already rank, or if it is easy to rank, you do not need backlinks.
Often I see sites ranking top on google and they have no backlinks at all. Click on their site and you see awesome content, user interaction, likes on facebook, tons of social media signals, they have a ton of citations etc. etc.

People do not understand what SEO actually is. Seo does not equal, "get a million backlinks!"
