The answer is yes... but with several caveats. Changing your domain name will affect the search engine's ability to find you and scour your web pages. For this reason, changing your domain name is generally seen as playing with fire in the SEO world.

Unfortunately, moving domains can do a serious number on your search engine rankings. Not because your brand virtually disappears for a short while, but because top search engines such as Google determine rankings through metrics based on both domain level and page level. When you decide to switch to a new domain, you basically reset these domain metrics back to zero.

Fortunately, there are ways where you can minimize the damage and if you are careful, you can effectively negate the effects of moving to a new domain.

During the first several weeks after changing the URL name, traffic typically drops by 5% to 20%. As a result, it's critical that you increase your optimization efforts to counteract this.

Hi,
The answer is Yes; changing a domain name will impact SEO because your current URL is ranking with a specific keyword, and if you change, your ranking will go down, or we can say reset these domain metrics back to zero.
