Steps for tracking Facebook 'likes' and 'unlikes' in Google Analytics
Install Facebook JavaScript SDK on your site
Add Facebook Social Interactions tracking code on your site. Keep this code right below the Facebook Social Interactions tracking code.
By doing this u can track Facebook 'likes' and 'unlikes'

You can do it with the help of social interaction web tracking. You can add a custom script using FB.Event.subscribe function to start tracking clicks.

In order to implement Social Interaction Tracking, you will have to update your current Google Analytics code to the latest version, and then add a few snippets of code to your HTML file.

I think you can track these deeply in Facebook Insight instead of in GG Analytics. At FB Insight, you can track almost everything you want about your FB Fanpage such as Fan, Engagement, Reach, Post, Click, Impressions,...and many other factors.

Google Analytics has added a new feature called Social Interaction Tracking. This new feature allows you to track social interactions on your website, your blog or on your Facebook fan page. These actions include the Twitter button and the Facebook Like, Unlike and Send actions.
Before Setting up the tracking for Facebook Likes, make sure that your Google Analytics code is updated to it's latest version.
The process is quite complex to implement, so you can refer to OptimizeSmart article to get scripts and tracking codes here - optimizesmart(dot)com(/)tracking-facebook-likes-unlikes-google-analytics/ (Remove brackets)

In this blog post, I’ll show you how to track Facebook Likes on your website and automatically send that data to Google Analytics as Social Interactions. Google Tag Manager will also take part in this play.

UPDATE: Due to privacy issues Facebook decided to deprecate a particular solution which allowed us to track clicks of native Facebook Like Button. Therefore it is no longer possible to track it.

This blog post assumes you have a working knowledge of Google Tag Manager tags. If you’re a beginner – I highly recommend checking out these free Google Tag Manager courses, first. The minimum requirements are:

You have Google Tag Manager tracking code installed on your website.
You know what tags, triggers, variables, and dataLayer are and how they work in Google Tag Manager.

P.S.  This blog post is a part of a more comprehensive guide – Google Tag Manager + Facebook, so if you’re looking for in-depth information about how to upgrade your Facebook marketing with Google Tag Manager, give it a try.

Why there is a need to go with Google Analytics when there is also an option to track Facebook likes in Facebook page setting.

Facebook is very small and nowadays Facebook is giving many good features to users. So there are tracking tools in Facebook.
