By moving from HTTP to HTTPS, your website will be affected but in a positive way. Your website will experience a slight boost in rankings, as per Google. Kindly check this post from Search Engine Land for detailed information - http://searchengineland.com/google-starts-giving-ranking-boost-secure-httpsssl-sites-199446

This change is giving mixed results for those who have changed their website status from HTTP to HTTPs. And People who have also applied SSL certificate are also experiencing some problems. But many of them ar not affected and getting good response. I suggest if you want to change to HTTPs then go on as its what Google said and with going by Google Guidelines one will surely get a good response if not now then later.

The response is quite good. but with segment your web site is targeting the results might vary a bit.

E commerce sites : highly effected on rankings
Content Site  : medium effects on rankings
Image hosting Sites : highly effected on rankings

and others.

Google announced on the websmaster central blog that now https can use as a ranking signal. For more information on http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.in/2014/08/https-as-ranking-signal.html

Google announced officially that HTTPS is the ranking signal.
If you change your website from HTTP to HTTPS then your website will definitely rank on Google.
