Hi All,

Does Hummingbird and natural language search change the way marketers should think about on-page factors?

Thanks,
Rohit.

I think people should concentrate on some high quality content production for their website. It has become a very important On Page factor for ranking your websites and build authority and trust of your website.

It analyzes and makes sense of billions of pages in order to provide the most relevant search results. The update included a major rewrite of Google's entire algorithm, affecting more than 90% of search results. The Hummingbird update is capable of understanding longer and more complex searches. For example, it's highly tuned for conversational search. That means search queries will use more keywords and the results will be more targeted.

Google has a new search algorithm, the system it uses to sort through all the information it has when you search and come back with answers. It's called "Hummingbird". It's the name of the new search algorithm that Google is using; one that Google says should return better results.

The Hummingbird is an entirely new algorithm. It approaches search engine queries in a brand new and intelligent way utilizing new technology combined with older features of the existing algorithms. It is named for the speed and accuracy of the tiny bird.

The purpose of this new algorithm is to provide a more natural search experience. Amit Singhal, senior vice president at Google said that people, "now routinely enter lengthy questions into the search box instead of just a few words related to specific topics." I would hazard a guess to say that people have always searched this way, and it has taken Google 15 years to figure out how to deal with it

Google can now better answer those longer-tail queries even if a page is not optimized for them. So some pages may have a better chance of being found for certain queries now.
