Title: In need of professional advice regarding redirection
Post by: jackadam on 11-01-2017, 03:08:58
I am setting an e-commerce store when I want to display sliders on my homepage. The way my theme works is that it first wants me to create a post and assign a feature image to it, and then it displays that feature image as a slider on my homepage. The slider also includes a CTA button that takes me to that post which I don't want. I want that CTA to redirect that post's url to one of my woocommerce's product category pages.

Should I add a noindex, follow tag to the post since it is of no importance to me and I don't want it to rank. I just created that page so that I can display a slider on my homepage. But I do want my category page to rank well in Google.

Can I safely add a 301 redirect in this case? How can I redirect my website's visitors to product category pages without hurting my seo?
