Post by: apexis on 04-28-2012, 02:28:19
hey guys!
how r u ? i need to create 2 versions of my website...means 2 sub pages, for single domain, one sub page optimized for google guidelines and second page optimized for bing guidelines, and i want to restrict bots on both pages, i.e first page belongs to google bot and second page belongs to bing bot and so bing page wont index and crawled by google and google page wont index and crawl by bing, long store short: i want to create different version of pages for google and bing....
and its not cloaking, for example, if visitor will come from google.com, then page shown same as crawled and indexed by google and same for bing.

whats your suggestions? its good practice to create pages for google and bing? as google and bing guidlines are totally collide each other!

It doesn't make any sense until you will not make these pages content rich. All search engines like the content very much and better if you create a single page and make it fill with quality unique content. Surely you will achieve good results in both Google and Bing!

Creating different versions of your website optimized for Google and Bing is not a common practice and may not be necessary. Both search engines strive to provide the most relevant results to their users, so if you follow SEO best practices, it is likely that your website will perform well on both platforms.

Instead of creating separate pages for Google and Bing, focus on following general search engine optimization guidelines that are agreed upon by both search engines. This includes ensuring your website has unique, high-quality content, proper meta tags, descriptive URLs, and good site architecture.

Cloaking, which involves serving different content to search engine bots and users, is against Google's guidelines and should be avoided. Instead, aim to provide a consistent experience for all visitors, regardless of the search engine they come from.

points to consider:

1. User Experience: Instead of creating separate pages for Google and Bing, prioritize creating a website that offers a great user experience. Focus on providing valuable content, easy navigation, fast loading times, and a responsive design that works well on all devices. This will benefit your website's performance on both search engines.

2. Keyword Research: Conduct thorough keyword research to identify relevant keywords for your industry and target audience. Both Google and Bing use keywords to understand the relevance of your website to a user's search query. By incorporating these keywords naturally into your content, you can increase visibility on both search engines.

3. Backlinks: Building high-quality backlinks from reputable sources is crucial for SEO. Focus on acquiring backlinks from authoritative websites in your industry, as both Google and Bing consider this an important ranking factor. Quality backlinks can help improve your website's visibility on both search engines.

4. Webmaster Tools: Both Google and Bing offer webmaster tools that provide valuable insights into your website's performance on their respective search engines. Utilize these tools to monitor indexing status, crawl errors, and other important metrics. This will help you optimize your website for better visibility on both search engines.

few more suggestions:

1. Structured Data: Implement structured data markup on your website to provide search engines with additional information about your content. Both Google and Bing support various types of structured data, such as schema.org markup, which can enhance the visibility and appearance of your website in search results.

2. Content Optimization: Optimize your content according to best practices for SEO. This includes using relevant keywords naturally within your content, writing compelling titles and meta descriptions that entice users to click, incorporating header tags (H1, H2, etc.) for proper structure, and ensuring your content is well-written, informative, and engaging.

3. Mobile Optimization: With the increasing use of mobile devices, it's crucial to have a mobile-friendly website. Both Google and Bing prioritize mobile-friendly websites in their search results. Make sure your website is responsive and offers a seamless experience on mobile devices, including fast loading times and easy navigation.

4. Local SEO: If your business has a physical location and serves a local audience, consider optimizing your website for local search. This includes adding your business address, phone number, and operating hours to your website, creating a Google My Business profile, and obtaining reviews from customers. Both Google and Bing emphasize local search results, so optimizing for local SEO can improve your visibility on both platforms.

It is something different idea. But its hard to optimize for both search engine and you will have to build link as well for both separately. I am not sure how Google will treat the link you have build for bing.
