Google Panda:
On February 2011, Google dropped the Panda update bomb on the internet using masses. Not too unknown, Google Panda comprised on a few complex contents. Primarily, the main objective was simple: to penalize sites having content of lower quality and the in process innovative of returning back sites with having high quality of material and which belong to the top search results.

Google Penguin:
Prior this year, Google launched another update known as the Google Penguin in April 2012. The main idea of this update was to penalize sites and tackle spams to those sites that didn't stand properly on the Google's quality guidelines. Another tackle showed was to the Black hat SEO techniques that various sites approached in order to increase their ranking in the SE ranks.

In my opinion Both algorithm updates are used to stop the spammers. Google Panda mainly focus on the quality. If your site contain low quality than Panda update decreases site rank. And Google Penguin is mostly focus on the techniques that you use for improving the site. If you use Unethical Black hat technique than your site may be penalized or banned by Google penguin update.

In Google Panda is used to check duplication of the con tent an it also checks content quality. Penguine is used to check spamming on various websites.

Google panda was created to discourage the low quality content sites while penguin is to punish the web spam.

Google Panda Update aims to lower the ranking on those sites that are low quality, spammy content, slow navigation, bad design, low bounce rate and full of advertising. Meanwhile, Google Penguin Update focuses on those sites that are over-optimizing, keywords stuffing and link spamming.

Indeed, numerous sites were affected by these updates and too bad my site was one of those. After Google introduced Panda Update last year, it dropped my ranking and traffic drastically. But despite of this massive loss, my site bounced back and I'm ranking again.
