Undergiven are few characteristics of the best and powerful backlinks:

Backlinks that are on your specialty/industry related locales (as simply having the backlinks isn't sufficient, particularly when they are on non-related destinations/places)

Backlinks having further layers of backlinks (at least 2 layers, i.e.: first layer: that is legitimately associated with your site and second layer: of backlink that may interface with first layer backlink).

After all, backlinks are implied essentially for two things, i.e.:

Increment the quantity of qualified traffic (that is truly inspired by what your fundamental site offers)

Increment the effort of your site (to show signs of improvement positioning on web crawlers for related ventures)

In any case, in momentum times as web indexes developed further developed and wise, so spam/blackhat-stunts (for example making an excess of backlinks on related/non-related locales or spots on the web) won't be useful.

It is about quality not amount anymore.

Here are some of the key metrics you can use to estimate the quality (or power) of a backlink based on its source website and a few important HTML attributes:

Domain Authority — The Domain Authority metric of a website is a measure (on a scale of 0 to 100) of how reputable the website is in its niche or industry. The higher a website's Domain Authority, the more valuable it appears to search engines. A backlink from a website with a high Domain Authority will generally be powerful enough to positively influence your search engine rankings.

Citation Flow — The Citation Flow metric of a website is a score between 0 to 100 and is indicative of the quantity of backlinks pointing to it. A website will have a high Citation Flow if a higher number of websites link to it. A backlink from a website with a high Citation Flow metric may have good value.

Trust Flow — The Trust Flow metric of a website is, again, a score between 0 to 100 and is indicative of the quality of backlinks to it. A website will have a high Trust Flow if a number of quality websites link to it. Likewise, its Trust Flow score will drop if it has backlinks from sketchy websites. A backlink from a website with a high Trust Flow metric will usually be valuable.

Spam Score — The Spam Score metric of a website is a measure (on a scale of 0 to 17) that shows the probability that the website will get penalized by search engines (for being spammy). A Spam Score below five can be considered safe. A backlink from a website with a Spam Score under five will count as a good backlink.

Dofollow — An effective backlink is always a dofollow backlink (explained in detail in the following section).

Index status — The index status of a web page tells if search engines have indexed it or not. A web page that's not indexed might not be visible in the search results. A website (or a web page) often has the non-indexed status if it has either been penalized by Google or if its robots.txt file isn't configured correctly. A backlink from a page that's not indexed doesn't give you any SEO juice. Moreover, if such a backlink is from a website wiped out of Google's index as a result of a penalty, it could harm your website's rankings as well.

External link count — The external link count metric of a page tells the number of external links a web page has. If a web page links to tons of external links, you might want to check if the page is spammy. A backlink from such a website (or a web page) that links to multiple pages may not be so valuable.

The most powerful backlinks come from relevant, quality websites.

A single backlink from an authoritative and relevant website has lot more value than a bunch of backlinks from low-quality websites.

Most importantly that backlink should have been earned naturally, means without asking the website owner for the backlink.

1. Extremely powerful backlinks come from relevant, standard websites

The quality of the backlink source website is a key factor in determining its importance.

A single backlink to an authoritative and relevant website is much less valuable than backlinks from low quality websites.

Here are some key metrics for estimating the quality (or strength) of backlinks based on your source website and some key HTML attributes.

Domain Authority - A website's domain authority metric is a measure (on a scale of 0 to 100) of how popular a website is in its power or industry. The higher the domain authority of a website, the more valuable it is to search engines. A backlink from a high domain authority website will generally be so powerful that it will have a positive effect on your search engine rankings.

Reference flow - The reference flow metric of a website is between 0 and 100 and indicates the number of backlinks that point to it. If a website has a large number of links to a website, then a website will have a high referral flow. Backlinks from a site with a great website can fetch a good price.

Trust Flow - A website's trust flow metric, again, scores between 0 and 100 and indicates the quality of the backlinks. If several standard websites are linked to it, a website will have a high trust flow. Similarly, if it has backlinks from sketched websites, its trust flow score will drop. A backlink to a website with high trust flow metrics will usually be valuable.

Spam Score - A website's spam score metric is a measure (on a scale of 0 to 17) that indicates the likelihood that the website will be penalized by search engines (such as being spammy). A spam score of less than five can be considered safe. A backlink to a website with a spam score under the age of five will be considered a good backlink.

Doflow - An effective backlink is always a do-follow backlink (described in detail in the following section).

Index Status - Indicates the index status of a web page whether or not it has been indexed by search engines. An unsorted webpage may not appear in search results. A website (or webpage) often has non-indexing status if it is penalized by Google or if its robot.tst file is not properly formatted. A backlink to a page that is not indexed does not give you any SEO juice. In addition, if such a backlink is from a website that has been wiped out of Google's index as a result of a fine, it can also damage your website's ranking.

External link count - A page's external link count metric is the number of external links on a page. If a web page links to tons of external links, you'll want to check if the page is spam. A backlink from a website (or a web page) that links to multiple pages may not be as valuable.
