Cheating on alexa

Is it possible to know if someone cheats on alexa?

If its not possible. How can you see how many unique ip the alexa statistics for a specific page is built on?

Alexa is an established program that determines the ranking of websites based on visitor invasion. I do not think that there would be any flaw in its mission.

didn't think it would be possible to cheat ? and would it really be worth the effort. Alexa isn't that popular at the end of the day!

First off, nothing is impossible.  It is possible to hack any website, even Google, if you have the right tools and knowledge.  But to actually cheat or hack a site like Alexa it would take so much time and work that you could be putting into making your website more popular in a legit way.  And besides, by the time you did succeed (which I doubt would ever even happen), Alexa would notice and in 20 minutes all your hard work is for nothing.

@PSU - dude you just stated the obvious i.e. nothing is impossible, but you also clarified it's not worth it , hence making it impossible in terms of achieviing the goals you would have want. i.e. you just can't win!

There's not any tool to get that information that is far more significant but also un-important for many kinds of businesses. If you have an Adsense program or some thing alike I can appreciate the concern for Alexa but for lots of businesses it has no importance. Most bog organizations do not allow to use such toolbars.
