Ask.com keeps losing steam I wonder what it's plans are to compete with the big 3 search engines? Maybe it should come out with a new browser like google did with chrome? What are your throughts guys?
I agree with you and I too feel that they have begun to take the back seat slowly and gradually. They could not stand the heat of the race probably when it comes to search concept.
ask.com has not improved at all in the recent times. That is the main reason for its fall. Search engines should always be on the look our for improvement and improvisations.
Ask is competing with big search engines that constantly improve their search engine and with much more funding.
I don't know about all of you but I'm confirmed that I don't like to use Ask.com's SE's.
Felt bored when I'm using it to search.
It needs more upgrades to attract more people to use it.
And that's for sure. :)
The results are far from good if you ever actually use the search engine. It just couldn't keep up with the power of Google or Yahoo, who already have millions of users thinking "Why switch", or Bing who has the power of Microsoft pushing it from all angles. It's now down to #58 on Alexa, it was once in the high 20's to early 30's.
It is pretty gloomy reports about the present status of Ask.com's web-search-technology. It is following issues:
• Search results shift among 10/page and go down to 5 per page, basing on the page you are screening.
• Most of the results for one keyword search-terms come back results with an identical title tag, accurately - they describe this a enormous "page-title association."
It's because they have many competitors nowadays that are more reliable..
I think the reason of falling Ask.com is that it mix up the search results making difficult for user to select a batter one.
ask is really a great search enging, i really like it very much, i think there is ask and google,
ask.com is not really improve because Google, Yahoo and Bign have great way to go in advance because of their huge network.
Ask.com 's why I am dropping the dough that it user to select a search result, making it difficult to believe that the confusion.
