I just found a easy way to discover new trending keywords pretty quickly.
You can use those trending keywords in blog posts to increase traffic and hopefully adsense earnigs.

Here is a quick guide to find the trending keywords:

1. Go to http://kwalert.net/ (I know we can check trending keywords through Google trends but this tool gives you regular updates about new keyword opportunity that makes it better than Google trends).

2. On the right side of page, enter the base keyword, select language and put your mail.

3. Once done, you will be presented a real-time list of base keyword variations which are trending.

Most of the keywords in list will be low competitive and you can easily rank for them with some on-page SEO and link building.

Apart from this, this tool will send you regular emails of trending keywords related to your base keywords which you can use for blogging.

I have also found one tool that is very good to research keyword. To research, find keyword for SEO, especially long-tail keywords, keywords having higher conversion rate, we should use jaaxy.com. Unlike other tools, Jaaxy's data isn't depended on Google Keyword Planner. Jaaxy provides some useful information that Google KW P doesn't provide. For instance, each long tail keywords provided by Jaaxy, we can see the number of competing websites ranked in Google for exact keyword. A score based on traffic and competition. The higher the score is, the more likely we will rank for this keyword in the first page. We will choose the keyword having the high score.

I, myself still prefer keyword planner of google since its reliable enough. I will try this alternative that you have suggested and  see if it will work on my personal blog.
