I've recently purchased a site on DP and the guy who sold it to me sent me the site files but failed to send me a .sql dump for the database. When I asked him why not, he said within the files he gave me a .xml file dump of the blog and it's settings.

My question is what the heck do i do with this .xml file and how does it create my database ... ? Any help would be great, because right now I've got a site with no database :(

Thanks in advance guys!

Simple buddy. Create a new database and do a fresh install of wordpress.

Once you're all set, login as the admin and go to tools->import.

Import the .xml file and it will populate your database with all the posts, comments and stuff from the xml file.

Certainly, here's a concise response:
You have the website files but not the database dump. The .xml file contains content and settings. Here's what to do:

1- Create Database: Make a new database on your hosting.
2- Import Content: Use .xml to import content into the new database.
3- Configure Settings: Adjust settings manually as needed.
4- Backup and Test: Back up and thoroughly test the site.
5- Consider Help: Seek assistance if needed for a smooth process.
