I like meeting old friends from school and seeing what they're up to, but I haven't been able to meet many new people in real life from facebook, this site is not so friendly with this type of thing.

I've used up my facebook accounts only for the games  :)) and to stay connected to some of my best friends and colleague.
I've not much time to hang out nowadays so facebook is the solution.  ;)

Facebook is a brilliant social networking site which connects me with friends from places I had long forgotten and that is what I love about it.

The other day I got a message (and a friend request) from someone who I hadn't seen in 12 years, but when I knew him, he was my best and closest friend, alas he moved away and we lost contact but boom, a cheeky click on the old computer and winner we are best friends again reliving those old memories!

So that is why I like it, it does what nokia try and do it "connects people!"

I love playing the game on it against all my friends it really connects everyone together and you can always see who is winning in games or not.

I love beating my friends and then making a status saying I have beaten them, it really annoys them. But then when they beat me they do it back so its all good clean fun!

I enjoy reading the gossip and being able to talk to family that is far away

Many users appreciate that Facebook allows them to stay connected with friends and family, regardless of distance. It provides a platform to share updates, photos, and memories, and can be a way to discover and engage with news, events, and interests. Facebook also offers various community groups and pages where individuals can connect with like-minded individuals and discuss topics of mutual interest. Additionally, some people find value in using Facebook for business purposes, such as networking, marketing, and promoting their products or services.

However, there are other avenues you can explore to meet new people in real life. Consider joining local clubs, attending social events, or volunteering for causes that interest you. These activities provide opportunities to engage with individuals who share similar interests and values. Additionally, participating in community events or taking up new hobbies can also expand your social circle. Remember, building meaningful connections takes time and effort, but with patience and an open mindset, you can meet new people and forge new friendships.

One not so perceptible attribute you may have overlooked today is the aptitude to produce a Facebook Ad for a meticulous status update. Friend and RE-rockstar, Dustin-Luther, clarifies the "Promote-a-Post" attribute on his blog!
Now if are playing around in the interior Facebook and have a few considerations, questions or comments.

Today I have over a thousand friends on Facebook whom I all know personally. (By the way, Tina, can I add you as a friend there? :)) It somehow became a list of people I know. EVERYBODY is there. You simply know that if you don't have a persons contact information, you can find him/her on Facebook. I try to distribute my "real" contact information as much as I can, but still often people try to contact me without having my contact information. In that case, Facebook is just unbeatable. (Especially as my personal homepage is for the time being switched off.)

I used to love Facebook's feature to sort the friends list chronologically in terms of when the person was added. So it was not only a list but a chronological list of whom I know. Nowadays that feature does not seem to exist anymore sadly.

In spite of Facebook's huge strengths and opportunities, I do not really "like" it. I would wish that I would be able not to there. Therefore, I don't really "use" it myself actively. I only use it for receiving messages from people who don't want (or cannot) send me an email and for sending messages to people whose email address I don't have. That's it :) Why do I not really like it although I consider it obligatory to be there? Well, I guess everybody knows about the objective problems. Subjectively, I consider walls and apps and tabs and photos and whatever else to be pure time-wasters. No interest whatsoever to use those "features" of Facebook. Conclusion: Everybody has to join Facebook because it is truly useful ONLY if everybody can be found there :)
