Does anyone have any suggestions for insuring that adding flash to my website will not hinder my SEO efforts?

Google will parse the text and links out of flash. You still have a very good opportunity to hinder your search engine ranking benefits if you choose to encapsulate the entire website into one single flash page.

Some feel that 10 pages are better than 10 pages crammed into a single page. It really depends on what your end result is. To each their own.

Always best to keep as much content as you can in simple HTML/CSS markup but googles not dumb, they're pretty good at decipering flash too. They have to.... so it's not as big a problem as it used to be back in the 90's and early 2000's.

When it comes to adding flash to your website while ensuring it doesn't hinder your SEO efforts, there are a few things to keep in mind:

1. Use HTML5: Flash is not supported on many mobile devices and can slow down your website's loading speed. Consider using HTML5 instead, which offers similar interactive features while being more SEO-friendly.

2. Optimize Content: Ensure that your flash elements are accompanied by descriptive text that search engines can read. This helps them understand what the content is about and improves your chances of ranking well in search results.

3. Maintain Accessibility: If you decide to use flash, make sure it doesn't result in accessibility issues. Provide alternative content or text descriptions for flash elements, allowing people who have disabilities or use assistive technologies to still access and understand your website.

4. Prioritize User Experience: While SEO is important, remember that user experience is key. If the flash elements provide significant value to your visitors, consider implementing them but balance it with the overall usability of your website.

5. Monitor Performance: Regularly monitor your website's performance and SEO metrics after adding flash elements. If you notice any negative impact on loading speed or search rankings, consider making adjustments or alternatives to ensure a positive user experience and maintain your SEO efforts.

Remember to stay up to date on best practices and recommendations from search engines like Google, as their algorithms and guidelines change over time.

A description of your flash program offset the actual flash program will pull the best results.  Keep a keyword rich description say on the bottom of the flash program to explain the flash to both user and the search engine bots
