Speed is a significant segment of web crawler positioning. Accordingly, AMP will affect SEO fundamentally if your site isn't adequate with regards to speed. For instance, two destinations could rank also when it came to SEO, be that as it may, the one with the most speed would get priority.

They have said AMP is not an official ranking factor, however, because AMPs improve site load time, which is a ranking factor, they have played a role in SEO. AMP pages are placed higher in the results. AMPs show higher in the mobile search results, so users don't have to scroll vertically.

AMP or Accelerated Mobile Pages are lightweight pages intended to provide mobile users a lightning-fast and more engaging experience.

In simple words, it is an open-source HTML framework that offers a simple way to create webpages that are fast, smooth-loading, and give precedence to the user experience. In order to make it more attractive to users, it is basically putting the website on diet.

Well coming to your question, AMP is not a direct ranking factor by itself that means having AMP pages won’t certainly increase rankings instantly. But as we are aware that Google now gives higher prominence on site speed and mobile-friendliness with their shift to mobile-first indexing and the introduction of Core Web Vitals which makes AMP an indirect ranking factor.

Speed is an important component of search engine ranking. As a result, AMP will impact SEO significantly if your website is not up to par when it comes to speed. For example, two sites could rank similarly when it came to SEO, however, the one with the most speed would receive precedence.
