Hi everyone,

I've been at the SEO game for a year and I have it down packed. Now I have about 28 projects to work on and most are doing great. Some are slower but that's expected.

Now my boss also wants me to work on our own site agcreative.ca and rank web design, seo, web development, web marketing for Vancouver. And this city is web central in Canada aside from Toronto and Montreal.

He will be competing against graphicallyspeakin.ca jklassen.net and acromediainc.com. These guys are giants with a huge portfolio that includes names like Bosley's, university's and big names around around Canada.

agcreative.ca has a pagerank of N/A and the site's been around for a while. It's been 2 months since I started the job but he wants an answer to why (even though I explained Google does keep these things a secret in way).

He basically wants a PR 4 and quick which is pretty much impossible unless we go nuts with blogging and social media which this site does none of. I have recommended this but I doubt any will get done or the number that is required to get results. I've also checked all their link backs and webmaster tools and everything seems to be fine.

If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

P.S They are very sensitive on content so I didn't touch it.

It is really impossible what your Boss said. You cannot get PR 4 within a few weeks. Convince your Boss and make him understand what you can get is only Pr 1 or max. PR 2 within 1-2 months and even it will need quality content posting and quality back links building.

SEO is slow and steady , after building good quality backlinks , when Google updates its page rank algorithm then you will get any change in the page rank till then you have to wait.

Thanks guys,

I already knew everything everyone is mentioning here. Its hard to convince someone that knows little to nothing about SEO and web marketing in general. He actually took me off the project for the company site (even though with my work, they were able to secure more contracts in less then 3 months then they did throughout the year without me).

Why does your boss want page rank? Of course, it is good to have but it's not the be all and end all? Try explaining this to your boss that in faact, most average internet users have probably never even heard of PR.

I told him about PR and he pretty much panicked and wanted it fixed ASAP. Kind of like "my car is BROKEN, fix it". The problem with explaining these things is that it doubles your job in one place when you have multiple projects to focus on. I am at it and he is getting okay rankings since I started. Quality leads are coming in. Since they've taken my advice, usability has improved. I will keep everyone posted no matter the time frame.
