Hi all,

I reasonably bought a high traffic blog. It's in blogger and half of the traffic from Google. It's a none English site and 99% local traffic. I am thinking to move this to wordpress. If I move the site from blogger to wordpress, will it affect for Search engine ranking ?

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

I guess Blogger don't allows us to redirect our URL to elsewhere, so you'll probably lose everything if you are switching.  I would recommend, if you have to use wordpress, to go ahead and start using the wordpress blog, but post all of your posts on both sites for a while. Broadcast to your readers that you're moving to a new blogging platform and give them the link during this time when you are posting on both blogs. Then, start posting only a link to your wordpress blog on your blogger blog until you have enough traffic to stop posting at blogger altogether. Write one last post on Blogger letting late comers know that you've switched platforms and you should be good!

I hope you will find it helpful.

I wouldn't recommend it. Posting the same post to both blogs without syndication means that there is duplicate content and he may loose traffic on both wouldn't he?
