I am confused.., which domain extension is good regarding SEO purpose? Both extension .com and .net is top level domain(TLD domain), But .com domain is good for SEO. My one website domain is websitedesigncompany.net.au, but its never come on first position for this keyword 'website design company'. It,s always ranks on 2nd position in Google Australia search, because a websitedesigncompany.com.au ranks on first position for same keyword in same search engine.  I think, Google gives too much priority to .com extension website. What do you say?

either one should be good.  I don't believe one will give you an SEO advantage.  however, the .com is what is searched for by default for most users, at least in the US, so it could get more people to your site just because they type in .com instinctively.

.com has good popularity and it has good SEO benefit too so you must use .com for better benefit, I would say, there is no doubt to using .com, it is safe, it is top extension and it has many benefits..

Well, It's really interesting discussion. Comparably, I would like to go with ".Com". Because of this extension is really popular according to SEO point of view and we can easily promote these types of website in the Search Engine.

in my own opinion as an internet user,  when i type URLs in the address bar, i would always type .com and i would always remember websites with .com more than .net or .net.au and maybe that's because i'm lazy but it can also be the reason why websites with .com extension ranks better than websites with .net.au or others extension.

Domain extensions have been prioritized by Google I would say, it give importance to popular extensions and I would say that .com is the most popular TLD as of now..

Of course you should go for .com in any circumstance if your website is not for any specific country...

You should definitely go for .com.au next time you set up a website like this, .com has always been more common to people and they always give preference to this, so does Google.
