"Content is King"!

Google gives more priority on "Quality Content" in a website. Duplicate content must be a major issue on Google Bot eyes, because it's violate their webmaster guidelines.

Duplicate content means that similar content appears at multiple locations on the web and as a result search engines don't know which URL to show in the search results. This can hurt the ranking of a web page and the problem only gets worse when people start linking to the different versions of the same content.

I have different views on this. I think Google does not penalize the website on duplicate content but it will penalize you on Spams. So, duplicate content is fine if it is used in one or maximum two websites. If it is used in more number of websites then it will be considered as Spam by Google.

Further, the above rule is for the entire website, not a particular blog post. It means you can copy and paste the content once ( only one post from one website) to avoid duplicate penalty.

Hence, duplicate post content can hurt your website but only if you have copied all the articles from website. Copying an idea will not consider as the duplicate.

Copy content is treated as nasty by the Google calculations. When Google creeps the substance quickly it erases it from the web. In this way, make sure that you are utilizing the one of a kind and quality substance with the end goal to draw in more guests towards a site or blog by giving them the data they are looking.
