Not sure how to word the title but this is what i mean....

Say we had pages A-Z uploaded on our site, all of them linking together.

Then, lets say that pages L-Z were duplicate content until we could fill them with original content so we didnt want Google to see them anymore and we take them down, along with all the links from pages A-K that link to them.

Now say Google crawls our site and only sees pages A-K, but then Google crawls YOUR site and you were linking to page N, which still links to every page A-Z.

Will Google penalize us for the dup content, even though we were not linking to it from our site navigation?

First thing, there is nopenalty for dupe content... the only thing Google do to duplicate page is filter in search results.

Yes, Google will disocover your page N and hence crawl all the pages linked to it.

If you don't want your dupe pages to get indexed, either use noindex meta tags block crawlers using robots.txt.
