It analyzes and makes sense of billions of pages in order to provide the most relevant search results. The update included a major rewrite of Google's entire algorithm, affecting more than 90% of search results. The Hummingbird update is capable of understanding longer and more complex searches. For example, it's highly tuned for conversational search. That means search queries will use more keywords and the results will be more targeted.

I don't think that Google would have penalized 2 of your sites at the same time. You should better check for any notification in the Google Webmaster's tool. If penalized, then you have to start link building techniques again. Better to contact a SEO agency for it. Because recovering for a penalized site is very difficult. And let the professionals do it.

Do a domain search first (without the TLD). If you don't appear on the first page, you're probably penalized. Also, do a site:yourdomain.com (or whatever LTD you got) search. If there are no links from your site, you're banned. Hummingbird doesn't ban or penalize websites, but your site could still be affected by it though; see what jaysh4922 said.

If your websites have been blacklisted after the Google Hummingbird update, follow these steps:

1- Understand the update and its guidelines.
2- Conduct a thorough audit of your websites to identify issues.
3- Fix any problems found, such as low-quality content or unnatural backlinks.
4- Submit a reconsideration request to Google, explaining the changes you've made.
5- Focus on creating high-quality, relevant content and follow SEO best practices.
6- Monitor your website's performance and adapt your strategies accordingly.
Consider seeking professional help if needed.
