I recently did some white hat on site optimization to the site webscaninc dot com

I optimized page titles, page URLs, added some headlines and 1% keyword density.

Result? For about 12 pages, where I averaged google position 10, all pages are out of google top 30, except 1.

Why??? Why would this happen? Thanks in advance.

There is definitely something you have changed or added unintentionally (in title, URL) that violates Google guidelines. Tweaking meta tags can be a possible reason.

Sometimes when you revamp your website, ranking fluctuates. Stay patient as everything might get normal soon.

You may use "fetch as Googlebot" feature of Google webmaster which will help you identify problematic areas.

When you make major changes, like you did, to 12 pages, that will cause a drop in rankings, but if you are doing everything okay, then have patience and build some links to your site.

Hi,
Are you sure about that, whatever changes you have made are relevant?
The changes you have put on your pages is in large amount, if you are sure that the changes are right from SEO perspective and good for your site then start working off-page SEO, you will again got your ranking back for sure.

Actually If you update your Meta Tags or URL with a change of more than 80% it usually push all the pages out of top ten for a short time. You should wait for a while if you've done a great job you'll be ranked again in top search results.

Google is strict when it comes to content on your information. It is possible that your page might vanish because google wants unique content and you should follow the rules and regulation of google.

Someone in your information and content, Google is strict. It's Google's own content, you want to comply with the rules and regulations because of Google's pages may vanish.
