Hi. i don't know if i am in the right section for this. Kindly move if not.

I have my client site converted from a static site to wordpress site.
After i have uploaded the new site, his google analytics/site rankings went absolutely downhill.
After going through his google analytics, there were a lot of urls lost.
So i redirected all that was useful according to the client and have the other links removed from google but everything was of no use.
So we decided to clear/reset all indexes. We had the site removed from google and then re-index the site with the new links.
The problem is after the site was removed from google, we can't seem to have it back on the search result using site:url
We are at lost. the google webmaster tool is also acting crazy (atleast that's what i think), the reason being is in the 'Google Index > Index Status' it is saying the the total indexed is '119' but in the 'Crawl > Sitemaps' it is saying '35 submitted > 16 indexed' and then when you use google search site:url, there is no result.

Can you guys help me out? i totally don't know what to do and my client is getting angry.  :'( :'(
if you guys want to know the site url. just let me know so i can pm it to you.

Have you changed the content of your website also? I would like to see your web site so that I can understand what the actual problem is and suggest you the measures.

Hi! we've changed the home page. Before we did a site removal on google webmaster tools, the site was found on google search using site:url but after the site removal, the site can't be found and it was like it wasn't index/crawled by google at all.

I PM'd you the site url. thanks mate!

I'm not surprised that your website is lost in Google search result because of the changes made on your site, and I would recommend to start rebuilding backlinks to your site.

thanks, i would do this but don't i need to have my site found on google search by typing up site:url first before doing some SEO stuff?

This is the first time when I have heard of such type of problem. I think you should do directory submission, and links of that on Google. This will help you.

Google has updated its algorithm and now it is emphasizing more on the content of a website, so if you recently changed the content then it might have not met the criteria set by Google for the quality content of a website.

If you're facing issues with your client's website after migrating it to WordPress, here are some steps to address the problem:

1- Verify website ownership in Google Search Console.
2- Submit an updated sitemap to Google Search Console.
3- Check for crawl errors using the "Coverage" report in Google Search Console.
4- Monitor server and website performance to ensure proper functionality.
5- Build quality backlinks to improve website visibility and authority.
6- Regularly update and optimize website content following SEO best practices.
7- Consider seeking professional assistance if the issues persist.
Remember that it may take time for search engines to re-index the website and for rankings to improve.
