Google Search Console is a free service offered by Google that helps you monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot your site's presence in Google Search results. You don't have to sign up for Search Console to be included in Google Search results, but Search Console helps you understand and improve how Google sees your site.

Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools) is a free platform for anyone with a website to monitor how Google views their site and optimize its organic presence.

Hey, Here is a simple difference between Google Webmaster Tools/Google Search Console

Google Webmaster Tools is Google's collection of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools that help you manage your site in Google Search results. Now categorized and housed under Google Search Console, they provide you with the data your organization needs to rank higher in search.

The search appearance feature mainly shows you how your rich snippets, videos, AMP articles, and more are performing. Like search queries, pages, countries, and devices, it can be sorted by the number of 'clicks', 'impressions', 'average CTR', or 'average position'.
