On-Page optimization is a mandatory step of promotion, without which the site will never get top rankings and, therefore, will not attract the attention of potential customers. On-Page optimization includes theoptimization of text and page code, internal link optimization, creation and proper placement (in the root directory) of robots.txt and sitemap files, the optimization of the design of a site and all this should be checked and rechecked with technical audits.

Code
Code should be optimized so that site works fast, where nothing impedes the load speed. When building a website, most developers use various visual editors. This leads to many unnecessary parameters for each tag. Code cleanup can reduce page load times. This is called "minifying" or "minification."
Correct structure of HTML-code
Tags <title> </ title> - title of a page. Keyword should be used once here.
Meta tag <meta name = "description"> - a basic description of the page. Optimal variant of description: text is no more than 160 characters, unique, keyword is used once.
Content of the description tag can be used by search engines to generate a snippet, especially true with regard to Google. The snippet is very important, because having a high rank position does not, in itself, guarantee good traffic - in many ways, traffic depends on the attractiveness of the snippet. Since the click through rate of previous searches for a keyword are now part of the Google Algorithm,  this increasing influence of behavioral factors in ranking makes having an informative and interesting snippet a prerequisite for the competent internal optimization of a website.
Tags <h1> </ h1> - the main title of a page. An H1 tag should be used only once on the page with the main keywords.
Tags <h2> </ h2>, <h3> </ h3>, <h4> </ h4> - support page headers. These tags can be used on the page more than once, ideally 2-5 times.
Tags <strong> </ strong>, <u> </ u>, <em> </ em> - refer to the tags used for the logical format of the page. With bold, you can identify keywords in the text. This will give them extra weight in the eyes of search engines. But do not use it too much. Highlighting keywords is optional.
Lists (tags <ul> <li> ... </ li> </ ul>). If numbering is present in the text, it is better not to just put down the numbers in the text, but use the appropriate tags. The same applies to bulleted lists.
ALT tag. This tag will allow you to optimize images for search engines and for people who cannot see a device's screen (blind people or those who are driving). An Alt tag must include text describing the image, and you can include keywords. Search engines consider them when ranking sites. If you describe images appropriately, you will receive additional traffic from Google images.
Content optimization
The text on the page is one of the most important ranking factors. And above all, it must be of high quality. Search engines prefer sites with lots of content, which, moreover, is frequently updated. It is important to use keywords in the text, but do not forget that a page full of keywords can be seen by search engines as spam. Therefore, it is recommended to use keywords with a frequency not exceeding 2-8% of the total content of the page.
An SEO Analysis tool will help you analyze your site structure, landing pages SEO, mobile optimization issues, page speed, SEO issues (duplicate content, 302 redirects, a lot of H1 headings, etc.) and will give you optimization advice on how to solve all these issues.
Content Uniqueness. All the material on a site should be checked for uniqueness. Non-unique content, and the pages that you do not want to promote, should be blocked from indexing in the robots.txt file in your root directory. If there are a lot of "junk" pages in queries, it can undermine the trust of the search engines in your site.
Internal linking is important not only for promoting particular content to the search engines successfully, but for the convenience of the user. A user should know where he is going with each link he or she clicks. He or she should know how to get necessary information.Internal Linking should be used:
as a tool to improve the relevance (compliance) of a page for a query in search engines
to increase the static weight of pages
to speed up the indexing of new pages
to improve usability
Sitemap
If you want all the pages of your site to be indexed, it is necessary to create a Sitemap. A sitemap contains a full list of the pages of the website. There are sitemaps for users, in which the content is structured and there are descriptions of materials, as well as XML maps for search engines which should be placed in your root directory.
ROBOTS.TXT
The Robots.txt file, with instructions for search engines about indexing pages, should be based in the root directory of a site. The robots.txt can keep a page from being indexed with the "nofollow" command.
Usability and design
Website design and usability are important components that help increase behavioral factors and site conversion. The website should be simple and understandable. One shot - one kill.
Social factors affect search engine optimization more and more. Social buttons should be placed in noticeable areas of your site to get 1) direct likes and shares of the content on any given page or 2) allow users to temporarily leave your site to follow one or more of your social media feeds and then come back.
Website speed. No matter how nice and convenient the site is, if the pages load slowly, you will face a condescending attitude from search engines and users. Google encourages making information "fast."  Since the speed of loading effects your rankings, the search engines may downgrade you if their bots show up at a time when your server is slow.  Your visitors will leave you if it takes more than a few seconds to load a page.
