Yes peoples are still using spamming techniques like keyword stuffing, doorway pages & others to over optimize the website. Make sure about webpage keyword density, it should be not more than 3% and better to use synonyms for target keywords that reduce keyword density and support to create more relevant webpages.

Yes, Keyword Density is still an important factor for an SEO. In the context of SEO, keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is related to a particular keyword.

Second Dixie's advice about not trying to do keyword stuffing. You don't need it.

Google's algorithms are far smarter now.

E - A - T (Expertise - Authority - Trustworthiness.)

Give users what they want when they come to your page.

High bounce rates?

Then you're doing a poor job of giving people what they want, and Google will move you down the listings.

Are people engaged and spending time on your site? Are they filling out lead forms? Then you're on the right track.

Worry less about specific keyword density and more about intent.

What do your users really want when they get to your site? And are you giving it to them in a clear and helpful way?

There's a mix of opinions here.

As long as you're writing in a natural way, and it's clear what topic you're writing about, and the way you write is fulfilling user intent, than you don't have to think about keyword density.

If you 'stuff' keywords, you will get a penalty.

Yes, Keyword densities still matter. You hear far less about it today in SEO circles, but keyword density remains an essential part of good SEO. The fact is that others as SEOs have begun to disregard it simply creates an opportunity for those who are willing to put in the work to write well-optimized content.
