DA is the Domain Authority, which is a search engine ranking score developed by Moz as a prediction of how well the websites can rank on search engines.

In response to your question, in simple words DA is based upon a variety of link profile factors such as how many links are pointing to your website and how authoritative those sites are. According to Moz's learning center Domain Authority is measured and based upon "evaluating linking root domains and number of total links." In addition besides link counts it is also measured by MozRank and MozTrust scores.
