My website's main keyword is facebook applications and well I have no idea how to even get close to compete with the top.  I can't really change this keyword because that is what I'm going to be developing.  I need some ideas on how to compete.

To compete in the crowded landscape of "Facebook applications," you'll need a strategic approach.

1. **Niche Down**: Instead of trying to compete directly with the top players, consider focusing on a specific niche within Facebook applications. For example, you could specialize in educational apps, games, or business tools. This will make it easier to stand out and build a dedicated user base.

2. **Unique Value Proposition**: Identify what sets your Facebook applications apart from the competition. Whether it's a unique feature, better design, or solving a specific problem for users, highlighting your unique value proposition can attract attention.

3. **Content Marketing**: Create high-quality content related to Facebook applications. This could include blog posts, tutorials, and videos that provide value to your target audience. Share your expertise and insights to position yourself as an authority in this space.

4. **Social Media Engagement**: Given the nature of your product, utilizing social media platforms strategically will be crucial. Engage with your audience, participate in relevant groups and discussions, and share valuable content to build a community around your brand.

5. **Collaborate and Network**: Look for opportunities to collaborate with other developers or businesses in the Facebook application space. This could involve cross-promotions, joint projects, or partnerships to expand your reach and credibility.

6. **SEO and ASO**: Optimize your website and app store listings for relevant keywords. Understand the search intent behind "Facebook applications" and create content that addresses these needs. Additionally, focus on App Store Optimization (ASO) to improve visibility within app stores.

7. **User Experience**: Ensure that your applications provide an exceptional user experience. Positive reviews and word-of-mouth recommendations can significantly impact your competitiveness.

8. **Paid Advertising**: Consider targeted advertising on platforms where your audience is likely to spend time. This could include social media ads, Google Ads, or other relevant channels.

9. **User Engagement and Feedback**: Actively engage with your users and seek their feedback. Implement features that users are asking for and continuously improve your applications based on user input. Positive user experiences can lead to increased retention and word-of-mouth referrals.

10. **Build a Community**: Create a community around your applications. This could be in the form of a forum, social media group, or any other platform where users can connect, share experiences, and support each other. A strong, engaged community can be a powerful asset for any brand.

11. **Influencer Partnerships**: Identify influencers or thought leaders within the Facebook application space and explore collaboration opportunities. This could involve sponsored content, co-creation of new features, or having them endorse your applications.

12. **Data-Driven Decisions**: Leverage data analytics to understand user behavior, preferences, and trends. Use this information to make informed decisions about feature updates, marketing strategies, and overall product direction.

13. **Build a Strong Brand**: Invest in branding efforts that differentiate your applications. A clear brand identity, compelling storytelling, and consistent visual elements can help your applications stand out amidst the competition.

14. **Localization**: If relevant, consider localizing your applications for different regions and languages. This can open up new markets and reach users who prefer content in their native language.

15. **Continuous Innovation**: Stay ahead of the curve by continuously innovating and adapting to changes in the Facebook and mobile application landscape. Keep an eye on emerging trends and technologies to position your applications at the forefront.

16. **Monitor Competitors**: Regularly monitor your competitors to understand their strategies, strengths, and weaknesses. This can provide insights that help you refine your own approach and identify opportunities.

17. **User Retention and Loyalty**: Focus on retaining existing users and fostering their loyalty. This can be achieved through personalized experiences, exclusive rewards, and regular communication to keep them engaged with your applications.

18. **Thought Leadership**: Position yourself and your brand as thought leaders in the Facebook application space. This could involve sharing insights through webinars, speaking at industry events, or contributing to relevant publications.

19. **Participate in App Communities**: Engage with online communities and forums related to app development and Facebook applications. Provide value, answer questions, and build relationships within these communities to expand your network and visibility.

20. **Feedback Loop**: Establish a feedback loop with your users, where they feel heard and valued. Actively seek feedback, communicate how it's being used to improve the applications, and show appreciation for their input.

21. **Invest in Quality Assurance**: Ensure that your applications go through rigorous testing and quality assurance processes. Bugs and performance issues can significantly impact user experience and tarnish your competitive edge.

22. **Monitor and Adapt to Algorithm Changes**: Stay informed about changes in the Facebook platform and App Store algorithms. Understand how these changes may impact your applications' visibility and adjust your strategies accordingly.

23. **Customer Support**: Offer exceptional customer support to address any issues or inquiries promptly. A positive support experience can leave a lasting impression and influence user retention and advocacy.

24. **Leverage User Generated Content**: Encourage users to create and share content related to your applications. This could include user-generated tutorials, testimonials, or creative use cases that showcase the value of your applications.

25. **Diversify Monetization Strategies**: Explore different monetization models, such as in-app purchases, subscriptions, or advertising, to find the most effective approach for your applications.

26. **Stay Ethical and Compliant**: Ensure that your applications adhere to all relevant regulations, guidelines, and ethical standards. Building trust with users is essential for long-term success.

27. **A/B Testing**: Implement A/B testing for various elements of your applications, including user interface, features, and marketing materials. This data-driven approach can help you optimize for user engagement and conversion.

28. **Referral Programs**: Create a referral program to incentivize existing users to refer new users to your applications. Word-of-mouth referrals can be a powerful driver of user acquisition.

29. **Gamification**: Introduce gamification elements within your applications to increase user engagement and retention. This could include points systems, challenges, or virtual rewards that encourage continued usage.

30. **Strategic Alliances**: Identify strategic partners or complementary businesses in the tech space with whom you can form alliances. This could open up opportunities for co-marketing, joint product offerings, or shared resources.

31. **Content Partnerships**: Collaborate with content creators, influencers, or media outlets to generate buzz around your applications. This could involve sponsored content, guest posts, or co-created content that reaches new audiences.

32. **Thoughtful Onboarding**: Design a seamless and engaging onboarding process for new users. A positive first experience can significantly impact user retention and satisfaction.

33. **Data Privacy and Security**: Prioritize and communicate the importance of data privacy and security within your applications. Building trust with users is critical, especially in a sensitive ecosystem like social media applications.

34. **Empower User Creativity**: Create tools within your applications that empower users to express their creativity. For example, if your applications are related to photo editing, provide advanced and intuitive editing options.

35. **Loyalty Programs**: Implement loyalty programs that reward users for continued engagement, such as exclusive content, early access to features, or special discounts.

36. **Accessibility**: Ensure that your applications are accessible to users with disabilities. This not only expands your potential user base but also demonstrates a commitment to inclusivity and usability.

37. **Vertical Integration**: Consider opportunities for vertical integration, such as developing complementary products or services that enhance the overall user experience within the Facebook application ecosystem.

These advanced strategies can further differentiate your applications and position them for sustained growth and success in the competitive landscape. As you implement these strategies, keep an eye on user feedback, analytics, and market trends to continuously refine and optimize your approach. Success in the competitive world of Facebook applications often involves a combination of innovation, user-centric design, and strategic partnerships.
