Backlinks on high PR sites?

This seems like a great idea, put your backlinks on sites with high Page Rank, it will quickly get indexed and viewed and maybe get some good traffic.  Always I think it's important your link is relevant to the content for the best result.  I've had good results with this on Bing forums

But, sometimes it is not easy to get links from high pr sites.
And when it is easy it could give you less than you expect.

Most high PR sites are rel="nofollow". So you're not getting any link juice, but if you're talking about paid links then yeah I gues that could work but it's against Google TOS so I wouldn't even go there.

you can do paid directory submission in high page rank sites. It will generate high value backlinks that will increase page rank of your site

Well, posting on Dofollow or high PR site is always been effective for your site because it contains good traffic and backlinks. But the problem is 10/100 sites are dofollow which is not good for everyone who want do-follow.

Many high PR ranked sites do not keep your link as they usually remove it if it is worthless or to increase space. Only useful informational links are kept for back linking. There are also some community forums which contains links from their community otherwise they used to remove it whether you have answered a question well by searching on internet wasting your most valuable time  for it. SEO is really not so easy nowadays.
