Hello folks. I've come across many sites which state Google doesn't prefer much link juice or no link juice at all after you submit your sites to Directories. Wondering if Directory submission is still a healthy way for gaining some good rankings?

Nothing is really bad as long as you dont consider any spamming technique to build backlinks. And in case of directory submission Google does consider it a way of building link in unnatural way. But you can still submit your website to some high authority directory.

Directory submissions are no more of such value to rank your keywords or build backlinks. Rather classified ads and local listings are more helpful and fruitful to build your traffic from various sources.

yes of course if you list your website in authority directories it works but it is not like that you should register low quality free directories and then start listing in those directories it wont work any more today only quality matters not quantity

I would concentrate on building links from high authority and well known, trusted web sites from your niche. Write guest blogs, comment on forums and blogs and always bring value.

Directory Submission is still effective in 2015. Do not submit the link on the paid directories. And Submit on the trusted websites with high quality content. Directory submission give you one way links.

Getting rank higher on Google is not easy in today's modern SEO by using previous spam techniques such as Directory. Most of previous SEO techniques are outdated and not in use now and known as SPAM.
