Hi all

I'm new to PS/L-A and am following the get started pdf, I've come to checking my backlinks and have a question.

A little background, My site was hаcked and a lot of pages were added to my site however I have now deleted these.

The now deleted pages are now resulting in 404's
The backlinks left from these pages are coming up green (27% or lower) or "not yet calculated"(Why are they not yet calculated as I bought a licence?)
should I disavow these links? They have no-relevance to what I am trying to sell (I'm a caterer, I'm not selling japanese cars or watches).
Also I have linked "spy glass" with "google analytics" I have added a disavow list in Google"web master tools" are the three not linked? All the urls in "spyglass" have the "no" value in the "disavow" colum.

Thank you so much for your help and I look forward to your reply!

If there are spammy links outgoing from the page or domain, then disavow them. Check that the link you are getting from the page or domain is related to your niche. If it is a relevant link, then keep it. If you have links to your site from poor website directories, then disavow them.

You should disavow all the non quality and irrelevant links first then update some fresh and unique content on your domain and submit it on high quality relevant web directories.

That is a terrible idea to disavow each and every low quality links. Irrelevant ones sure if you are most certain that they are going to harm your site (only in that case). Op will just hurt himself by using the disavow tool ruthlessly.

And now-a-days Google simple ignores low quality links so why even bother?!

Disavow is used when you are getting backlinks from websites which are either irrelevant to your site's niche or spammy in nature.

So it is a good practice to check your backlinks on search console on regular basis and check eack linking website on Moz spam checker.
If spam score is above 30% and the website is completely irrelevant to your site then disavow such links.

Essentially, disavowing a link is telling Google that the link is a threat to your site. It's a serious action to take. So you shouldn't disavow links indiscriminately. Like Google says, you could hurt your own SEO, and that's not what you want.
