duplicate content penalty
« on: 11-01-2011, 02:29:06 »
Mirroring content is one of the most popular forms of article marketing. You will find that your article is published on other websites alongside your resource box, name and website. When each of these websites publishes your work, they leave you a back link. This increases your SEO results. You therefore get higher page ranking in search engine results. This is not considered duplicate content and search engines therefore do not impose a duplicate content penalty on you.

Well, actually there is no penalty for duplicate content. If you have same content published on multiple URLs, after considering some factors Google picks one URL to be displayed in the search results. rest of the URLs will not be displayed.
So, I don't see any logic behind submitting same article on multiple websites when they are not going to get displayed in search results.

duplicate content is not being penalized. it is, after all, a useless effort because Google only chooses one content to be rated and the others are igored.

Yes, it is not duplicate content but you can say that Article publication, and it is very Good for getting back links, also very good for Page Rank as it derives high Quality Traffic, Copying content from some where else and put it in our site, you can say it Duplicate Content.

Submitting the same content over multiple site is consider to be content farm. It is not treated as duplicate content but the backlink gained through this method is not worthy at all.

One more thing to not be penalised for the same article on multiple directories. And that is , provide the reference link in your article which point to the same article on other site so this will not count as duplication. And the other is that use the synonyms for the same article and post it. But this will take more time to turn the whole article as unique.

The panda update changed the amount of traffic that many of my websites received... Google now values unique content more than it used to and if you are looking to create a website by copy and pasting from other established websites, than good luck seeing any of your pages in the Google search results.

Submitting same content on different sites does not mean Content farm... Content farms are those websites that invite other writers to write content for their websites.

There is no duplicate content penalty as most may think, what the penalty is; is on your own website and across domains with the same content word for word to manipulate the search engine rankings.  If you submit a piece of content all across the web word for word, nothing is going to happen, except you have a bunch of the same content all over the web.
