Is Blog Commenting Still Valid And Plays A Vital Role in Rank A Website?

I am doing SEO for the last 1-2 years but still want to learn and update myself with the latest algorithms and rules which was announced by Google.

One thing which is still a mystery to me because I have seen many people still doing blog commenting and here I am talking about instant approval blog commenting but in many articles and blogs I seen and read that blog commenting is not valid these days and almost ended by Google and it is not good for any website's ranking.

So now here I am here to ask my query which still puzzled me. Help me with the best information and fact about this topic so that I will know about it and do not waste much time on doing blog commenting if it is not important.

It still works but only as a way of diversifying your backlink profile. Ideally, 3-5 blog comments should be more than enough for that. Most of your backlinks should come from guest posting, some from forums, and blog comment links should be the lowest in this importance hierarchy.

Focus on getting guest posts from relevant websites, and then if you still have time available, go get some blog comments. But make sure you're not going overboard with it.

It is probably still valid as people seems to still do it to get backlinks. But I see a trend where more and more blogs are closing comments or automatically ban everything with links. So, it is probably dying out, since you already have to search half the internet to get a dofollow comment link.

Yes, it does play an important role in an auxiliary way.
I mean, that it works to keep your website on the first page of Google SERPs for relevant keywords.
It cannot do that by itself. The pages are supposed to be brought to the first page by building back links through other bolgd and then they can be made to stay on the first page using the steps of blog commenting.
