Is it Worth Creating forum profile Backlinks to websites

I have seen so many people creating backlinks with high PR forums and most of them are profile backlinks or signature links. I too have several packets containg such links but I am not sure whether they are good enough or not. I have not created backlinks from those packets. Is it worth creating backlinks from them or will it be just a wastage of time.
One more thing I want to know is that - do such backlinks have any negative impact on SEO or your page rank

Yes, profile link and signature links good effect on rank of a website and it is not a waste of time. And  such back links do not have any negative impact on SEO and your PR. You can create these back links from your packets .

Focusing only upon forum profile link is no use and it is utter waste. It is worthy, only when the profile has quality number of posts with signature. And the signature link must be particularly do-follow.

If the website is of high authority, then creating profile backlinks would have positive impact on your website rankings. In order to be on a safer side, we should not build links from a single source. We should use all Off Page techniques.
