Thanks for the post! I am glad everyone can agree that link building is not dead, but certain techniques are. I do have to disagree, I think links in press releases as well as directories can still be beneficial (if done "correctly"). One link in a press release is good, more than 1 however not so much. And directories work to get your business location out there so people know where they can find you, right?

Hi,

I agree with your thoughts that the now a days link building is not dead only the process of link building is changes. Before penguin update normally link builders was doing link exchange with thematic, un thematic, low quality sites. They was just trying to increase quantity of links not quality of links. But now a days, after Google updates, lots of link builders are doing link exchange with quality. So as per my concern, If we do link exchange with thematic, High PR, DA, Genuine sites and with C class ip then this could be better for sites.

I don't agree that link building is dead. If link building is dead, SEO is dead. If SEO is dead, all online activities are dead

Yes I agree to you link building had not dead or never be as for our site ranking we have to build links but the thing that has changed is that now we've to generate links from the good reputed and related category site not from anywhere  this is the new approach of building links.

I think link building will never end.But what you should do is to link your website with quality websites means high authority. In conjunction you should also concentrate on social share to improve your website rankings.

No, Link building is not dead. Only the way of making links got changed as you all know that the software industry is a growing industry and its rules and regulations always changes. So changing in link building is obvious.

Link Building is not dead !
but some portion of Link Building is Dead and some portion will changed.
now after penguin 2.1 update we can follow few link building methods.
Like:
1. Forums Posting.
2. Social Networking Posts.
3. Article with URL don't use Anchor tag in Keyword.
4. Press Release.
5. PPT Submission.
6. Image Submission.

try these link building technique you will defiantly get SERP.

Agree with all those tehniques for link building, but they say that should be more ... natural, based on your content.

But how to improve the SERP positioning for an expression / kewyword if it is not used as an anchor text from an article?  Where you can use the main keyord and what about percentages of anchor text variations?

absolutely not! Link building is still one of the most important factors to SEO.. If anything, the only thing that has changed with link building is that they quality of your backlinks must be that much better now!
