Link spamming your website will no longer increase your search engine rankings.  Recently google has announced they do not condone link spamming and have taken steps in their search engine code to punish link spammers search results.

Which steps did they take to punish spammers?
I am afraid that they could punish honest seo optimizers.

Google is very careful and strict when it comes to spamming activities.  It is better to resort to legal means as far as advertising is concerned.

Link building in 2016 is the process of earning links on other websites. Earned natural links directly improve the reputation of a website and where it ranks in Google, and other search engines.
