Is is beneficial to have hyperlinks on your site?  Well if the hyperlinks open  separate windows then they are useful in the sense that they visitors return back to the original site.  If they do not open a new window, there is a lesser probability of the visitor returning back to your original site.

I think hyperlinks in same tab are okay too, the goal is to be as user friendly as possible for my site, that is why I keep hyperlinks same tab even though I don't want my traffic leaving to another site :(

Too many hyper links of course will spoil the show and play the spoil sport.  There can be at the most two or three self run sites.

I do not think so.  One can have any number of hyperlinks on the site.  Of course I came across several free web hosting providers insisting that hyperlinks should not find place on the front page.

You have pages and posts on your site, so benefit as much as possible from them. Inward connections are immense for third party referencing on the grounds that you can control every little thing about them, from the area on the page to the grapple content. This is something that a great many people disregard - kindly don't! Make a point to guide your substance toward different posts or pages so you can connection to them.

People like to `do' things when they get to a site. Give them a hyperlink to click on and reap the benefits at the same time. Regular use of hyperlinks will improve your SEO and make life easier for your readers.
