Did you know that the Bing equivalent of Googlebot is called Bingbot?

Bingbot is used by Bing/Microsoft to crawl and index websites, so that they can find the information they need to store pages in the SERPs.

So for example when you publish a new website or just a new page/article on your site, at some point Bingbot will come along and visit the page, so that if it meets Bing's quality metrics, it can be stored in the Bing search engine.

Bingbot works very similarly to Googlebot, and you can control it either by Robots.txt/the Meta Robots protocol, or via Bing Webmaster Tools!
