#1 reason people leave a site in a hurry - lack of quality content

- avoid using tons third party content that make you site load slower
- make sure your site navigation clear and easily accessible
- include search box functionality
- don't put too many ads and consider about ad placement
- pop-up ads in your content, interruptions to speak with live chat and pop up sign-up newsletters can make your site reader away from your site in seconds.

Serveral my tips:
improve design

if you are targeting country: lets say russia,- do not make backlinks in japanese websites,- people coming and just leaving straight away

do not buy direct traffic from fiverr or similar services,- my personal experience- nothing more just rised bounce rate

if you working on your project not alone but with team (anyway I suggest this mod) Exclude your IP by creating exlude filter in Google analytics, so it stop count your or your team visits

I totally agree with all those tips. I would also like to add that adding decent quality video instead of one or two paragraphs can really decrease the bounce rate. Also you can add Images and other media also to increase the time spent on your website

The bounce rate is a very important metric with respect to landing pages. This metric is often used as indicator of the quality of traffic or page. If a website maintain good, attractive, informative landing page which can satisfied visitors then surely bounce rate will decrease.

If you decrease the bounce rate some simple step you follow:-
If you don’t have lots of time to pay attention to reducing your bounce rate, first look to see where you are in evaluation to other websites in your area. For example, the infographic above reveals that weblogs generally have a jump amount of 70% to 98%, and e-commerce websites have a jump amount between 20% to 40%.

1)Attract the Right Visitors
2)Enhance Usability
3)Use good layout
4)Speed up Pageload
5)Provide good content

According to Google analytic, bounce rate is defined as the percentage of single-page visitors to a web site. If you don't have time to decrease bounce rate, then first look the site to which you are in comparison. Once you know the space where you actually stands as compared to other site, then you can easily determine whether you have to focus on decreasing a bounce rate or not.

Bounce rate is an internet marketing term used in web traffic analysis. It represents the percentage of visitors who enter the site and then leave (bounce) rather then continuing on the view other pages within the same site.

        Rb = Tv / Te

  where

       Rb = Bounce Rate
       Tv = Total number of visitors viewing one page only
       Te = Total entries to page.

First look at the bounce rate on a keyword basis and the landing pages that are related to those keywords.  If you find that you have some really good stick rates with a lot of your best keywords on certain pages then you might not be all that concerned when you have a high bounce rate with keywords that don't mean much to you.  No need to go making changes if the keywords that are converting are getting the proper actions done.
