I am not 100% sure about it but for me bounce rate is about the number of people that come to your website and gone away in no time while exit rate is based on the people visiting and staying there for sometime and then exit.

Bounce rate is the percentage of people who landed on a page and immediately left. Bounces are always one page sessions.
Exit rate is the percentage of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session.

Bounce rate is the percentage of visits, who have entered on a particular page, go no further than that page during their session. Exit rate is a kind of bounce rate that doesn't care about how you got to the page. It still relies on some page being the last page viewed within the visit session however.

Bounce rate shows percentage of visitors who left your website without visiting another webpage or you can say who left from their landing page.
While an Exit rate means from which page user exits from your website.

Exit rate is the percentage of visitors who leave your website from a specific page. This has to be beyond the landing or home page, and every page on your website has its own exit rate.
Bounce rate is the percentage of users who leave your website from the landing page itself. This means that the visor has not navigated your site beyond the page they were originally led to.

Hello,
Bounce rate is the percentage of visitors that visit a page on your website and don't visit any other pages. For example someone may come in to a page via search engine and then go to another site without visiting any of your other pages.

The exit rate on the other hand is the percentage of people who have left the page but would have previously visited other pages. The figure is worked out by the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a page based on the number of visits to that page.

I hope this information is useful for you.

Exit Rate: Always calculated even if they didn't start or end on the page. If they went from Page C in the last example to another page in your site then it is positive. If they left your site after visiting Page C then it is a negative. 50% of people in that example either visited another page, or exited the site through Page C. 2 for 2, out of a total of 4.

Bounce Rate: Only calculated if they entered the site on that page. Never calculated if they got to the page from another page on your site (the preceding page would get the bounce rate). So in the above example of Page C again. They only came in on Page C once and they exited after reading it. So it is 100% bounce.

A high bounce rate on a home page is usually a sign that something is wrong. But again, make sure you take a close look at the sources and keywords that are driving traffic. You might have a very low bounce rate for some keywords and very high for others. Maybe you’re getting a lot of StumbleUpon traffic which, by its very nature, has a high bounce rate. High exit rates can often reveal problem areas on your site. But the same type of caution needs to be applied. If you have a paginated article – say four pages – and the exit rate on the last page is high, is that really a bad thing? They’ve reached the end of the article. It may be natural for them to leave at that point.

Exit rate is the percentage of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session.

i wanna add to the exit rate here: Exit rate is actually the rate at which a person is exiting from a particular page on the same website.

To understand the difference between Exit Rate and Bounce Rate for a particular page, keep the following points in mind:

For all pageviews to the page, Exit Rate is the percentage that were the last in the session.
For all sessions that start with the page, Bounce Rate is the percentage that were the only one of the session.
Bounce Rate for a page is based only on sessions that start with that page.

The Exit Rate on the other hand is defined as the percentage of visitors that leave your web-site from a given page depending upon the number of visits to that page of same web-site.

Bounce rate is nothing but percentage of visitor visiting your website page and left immediately without visiting other page. On the other hand exit rate is percentage of visitor visiting your website and stay there for a while and exit. In this case the visitor may have access other page in your website.

Exit rate means visitor who exits might have visited other pages on your site, but just exited on that specific page.or other hand Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that hit your website on a given page and don’t visit any other pages on your site. i would think google looks to see if you continue your search, going back to the google search results and looking at more sites.I really doubt that bounce rate make a different on SERP..

Bounce rate refers to the percentage who exists from the website from the landing page itself. Whereas Exit rate refers to percentage of people who exists from the website from a certain web page. In other words the last visited page is termed as Exit page.
