For all online visits to the page, Exit Rate is the rate that were the toward the end in the session.

For all sessions that begin with the page, Bounce Rate is the rate that were the one and only of the session.

Bounce Rate for a page is construct just in light of sessions that begin with that page.

To understand the difference between Exit Rate and Bounce Rate for a particular page, keep the following points in mind:

For all pageviews to the page, Exit Rate is the percentage that were the last in the session.
For all sessions that start with the page, Bounce Rate is the percentage that were the only one of the session.
Bounce Rate for a page is based only on sessions that start with that page.

Bounce rate is the percentage of people who landed on a page and immediately left. Bounces are always one page sessions.

Exit rate is the percentage of people who left your site from that page. Exits may have viewed more than one page in a session. That means they may not have landed on that page, but simply found their way to it through site navigation.

BOUNCE Rate is the percentage of visitors that hit your website on a given page and don’t visit any other pages on your site.

EXIT Rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your site from a given page based on the number of visits to that page.

alculations of Bounce and Exit rates

* Bounce Rate is calculated by taking the total number of Bounces (to your website or a set of pages, depending on what you’re looking at), and dividing it by the total number of Visits (to your website or a set of pages, depending on what you’re looking at).

* Exit RatePercentage is calculated by taking the total number of Exits, and dividing them by the total number of Pageviews (Not Visits – Pageviews)

My website bounce rate has dropped significantly. Web interface and internal links, article quality, plays a very important role to reduce the bounce rate.

Here is the official def. from Google :) I think it's easy to understand.
- For all pageviews to the page, Exit Rate is the percentage that were the last in the session.
- For all sessions that start with the page, Bounce Rate is the percentage that were the only one of the session. Bounce Rate for a page is based only on sessions that start with that page.   !-!

Whenever a user trips your house web page and diverts to some other site or close your site after that it is stated to become bounce price. Means a person appointments your house page just. And leave rate may be the rate of which users go to a particular web page. Means the common time of which users keep your web page.

For all  page views to the page, EXIT rate means the persentage which were the last in the session!
And for al sessions that start with the page, BOUNCE rate means the persentage which were the only one of the session. And  bounce rate for the page is based on those sessions that start with that page only!
I want to add that a very high bounce rate on your home page can be a sign that something went wrong. You have to make sure that you look closely at the sources and keywordswhich are driving your traffic.  Sometimes, it can be a very low bounce  rate for some of the keywords and too high for others!
I hope that this information is useful and will help you to understand the difference!

Bounce Rate is the percentage of visitors that land on a particular page, visit no other pages in your site and leave your site completely. So here’s an example: I do a search for “website designer in seattle” and I arrive at this site. Without clicking anything, I leave this site to go somewhere else. I “bounced.”

Exit Rate is the percentage of visitors that leave your website from a given page based on the number of visits to that page. Hey, that sounds a lot like “bounce rate,” right? The difference is that the visitor may have been to other pages on your site before exiting. Here’s an example: I do a search for “website designer in seattle” and I arrive at this site. I look at the portfolio, read a few articles, go to the contact page and fill out the form. Then I leave. I “exited” from the contact page. On the other hand if I had done a search for “BaraltDesign contact info” and landed on the Contact page and left immediately, it would have been a “bounce.”
