In SEO there are two factor On Page and Off Page so wordpress doesn't do anything special to improve search engine ranking. We need to do it manually by putting different strategy according to our keyword. However, in WordPress we have yoast seo plugin through which we can easily do our on page and make the webpage seo optimized. For Off page we have to create backlinks which is not depend upon Wordpress.

That is complete bs, wordpress is just a regular CMS that is neither good nor bad for SEO by default. Though, it has some useful plugins that can ease the optimization process.
