Search engines always doesn't read the images which you have put in your website.  We always use ALT tag to optimize a image by that particular keyword.

“I would advise you to look at ways in which you can incorporate the data around the image. It could be in the meta information within the image, it can be the title, the name of the image or a paragraph of text around the image…”- Matt Cutts

In addition,
- Add Alt tag with your images
- Add title tag
- Optimizing the size of images
- Add an image sitemap to your website
- Use thumbnails

You can make search engines to crawl your images by adding keyword in the alt tags and you can also do image submissions to popular image accepting sites like photo bucket.

Image optimization
1. Proper alt tags for images. Name the image what the picture is about. For example if your images is about bmw car. Name it as BMW 320. This can make your image to rank in image search.
2. Use proper size of image. Don't use too large image. This can increase the load time of your page.

How to get image

Firstly you need to use ALT Attributes or ALT Tags with your text to get the image  and for optimization you just need to do white hat seo, the background colour must be match the image colour.

Also be sure to optimize the filename too. For example, if you have an image of a "big apple tree" the filename should be big-apple-tree.jpg
